Profile of Judy Leonard

Judy Leonard is the event planner for SEI and currently supports ODL in the areas of communications and outreach. She also supports the MIT-Haiti Initiative. She was recognized for her contributions at MIT with the MIT Excellence Award in 2005.

Giving back to the MIT community, Judy, is currently a member of MIT Artists Behind the Desk, Eventplanners@MIT, MIT Green Ambassador, Diversity@MIT, and wgssi@MIT. She is the MIT/ODL Community Giving Ambassador. She also participated in the MIT Dean for Undergraduate Education Buddy Program.

Judy is also an active volunteer in her community serving on the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Bolton Cultural Council, Chair 6 years; and the Scarpa Villa Tennis Association.

Judy joined MIT in 1997 as the Manager of the Central Donor Records Department. In 2001 she joined IS&T’s Open Knowledge Initiative as the OKI Project Administrator. In 2007 she joined the Headquarters Team of newly formed Office of Educational Innovation and Technology under the Dean for Undergraduate Education. In 2014 she transitioned to the newly formed SEI as its event planner.
