Profile of Cole Shaw
Cole has been interested in capacity building since he was an Outdoor Emergency Care instructor in ski patrol, and he continued working in the field as a Peace Corps Volunteer and leader of product design workshops. As a software developer in SEI, he works with MIT faculty and course teams to experiment with learning technologies — his web applications belong to the Backstage software suite. These apps range from concept maps of lecture videos, to core infrastructure for learning asset management. Cole also acts as a technical liaison with external collaborators such as edX, Stanford OLI, UT Austin, and the Open University of Catalonia (UOC).
